Zulum visits families of slain fishermen | The Guardian Nigeria News

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno has visited the families of 30 fishermen who were killed on Wednesday by terrorists in Mukdolo village, Ngala Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the affected fishermen from Dikwa LGA had been fishing in the village, but were attacked and killed by terrorists.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Mallam Isa Gusau, on Saturday, said Zulum met with the family of the deceased at the palace of Emir Dikwa, Alhaji Ibrahim Ibn Ibrahim-Elkanemi.

“On behalf of the government and the people of Borno, I am here to express my sympathy to you for killing our brothers and sisters who are earning a living.

“I ask you to seek comfort from the Almighty God, because only He can take a life. We pray that his soul may rest in peace forever”, said Zulum.

The governor, who gave relief materials to each family of the deceased to support them during the period of mourning, also assured further assistance.

Responding on behalf of the family, the Shehu of Dikwa commended the governor for his concern and commitment to the welfare of the people.
