District Governor candidate All Progressive Congress (APC) in Borno State, Governor Babagana Zulum, is leading as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the results of 22 out of 27 LGAs in the state.
The results of the regional areas that APC has so far shown and won are: Jere, Dikwa, Mafa, Magumeri, Kaga, Nganzai, Guzamala, Konduga, Gubio, Kwaya-kusar, Mobbar, Bama, Gwoza and Monguno.
Those remaining are Chibok, Kala-Balge, Ngala, Abadam, Damboa, Askira/Uba, Kukawa and Bayo, leaving Zulum in the lead with over 350,000 votes.
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mohammed Jajari, who did not win any LGA, trailed a close second by over 40,000 votes.
The Electoral Officer for the governorship election, Jude Rabo, has postponed the collection of results to Monday at 10 am for the remaining five LGAs.
The five suspended LGAs are: Hawul, Biu, Shani, Marte and Maiduguri Metropolitan Council. (NAN)
