HELSINKI – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to visit Finland on Wednesday, the Finnish presidential office said in a statement.
Mr. Zelensky was invited to hold talks in Helsinki with Finland’s president, Sauli Niinistö, on “Ukraine’s defense struggle and Finland’s support for Ukraine,” among other things, the statement said. The leaders will hold a joint news conference after the discussion, he added.
Mr. Niinistö and Mr. Zelensky are also expected to meet with the prime ministers of Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland to “discuss the situation of Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine” and “Nordic countries’ continued support for Ukraine,” together. with other problems, the statement said.
Ukraine’s president has made several trips abroad since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Last month, he received a hero’s welcome on his first official visit to Poland.
