Zach Shallcross Sends Home a Frontrunner, Shocks a (Bachelor) Nation

Zach Shallcross doesn’t have the most dynamic personality.

Therefore, we will imagine why so few people chose The Bachelor this season.

But one stud muffin made a surprising move on Monday night that has people buzzing and, producers hope, wondering what to do next.

Let’s run down the main takeaways from the latest episode, shall we?

After a one-on-one date with Kaity (which included the pair spending time at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles), it was time to head back from the Bachelor Bowl.

After Zach’s Ball defeated The Shall Crushers (great team name, by the way), Zach told Bailey “not sure if there’s a future between us,” sending this suitor packing before the Rose Ceremony.

Christina Mandrell — who scored her first solo date of the season, even visiting bachelor kids’ homes to meet their families in the process — called the rejection “inevitable.”

This response did not sit well with the remaining women.

Christina is a 26-year-old Content Creator from Nashville, Tennessee. “Christina is ready for the perfect love story, a fairy tale! She is a mother to her 5-year-old daughter, Blakely, who lives to make her happy,” read her bio.

“At this point, we’re all just fed up with Christina,” Charity noted on air. “For them to say that someone was sent home, that’s really shocking.”

A short time later, Charity got Zach a group date rose – and it became more awkward.

Everyone else congratulated Charity, but Christina spoke up and went in the opposite direction:

“Hey, I’m honestly confused. Maybe I missed something. But I’m just confused.”

Added Kylee in the confessional:

“I was like, ‘Dog, shut up.’

“Once again, Christina is making it about herself and not respecting our feelings. So, I feel like there’s something I need to tell Zach quickly.

At the pool party afterward, Brianna tells Zach that she wants to leave because “our relationship didn’t get a chance to get off the ground because of the tough things I’ve been going through at home.”

To be more specific and pointed?

“A lot of girls struggle to be authentic because a lot of girls at home are intimidated and have a hard time with this guy, but honestly, the only reason I feel like sharing this with you now is because I’m planning to leave.

“That person is Christina.”

Shallcross has no chance here but face Christina.

“I know the woman at home is sick and insecure because of you,” she said. “I’m surprised and I want to talk to you about it.”

Christina did her best to defend herself as follows:

“I’ve been confronted by some girls.

“I rub people the wrong way. I can go out and be happy and loud.

“Many people think that I want to be the center of attention or that I have privilege, or that I am more special or that I have a better relationship with you than others because I met your family.”

Christina then begs Zach to “help me, help me, help me,” before bawling at the confession.

“I’m a lot,” he admits. “I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I don’t know how to give you more clarity because I’m just not good at it.

While going to the rose ceremony, Zach observed how he “has to be careful and look at the big picture.”

Therefore, with one last rose, he decided to give it to Mercedes to change from Christina.

“It just hurts now,” Christina said as she was sent home.

“Zach blew me away. I was hoping to like him, but it’s not like I did so quickly… I’m alone and I hope he finds him. Unfortunately, not me.”
