Youths mull national parley to address rotational presidency | The Guardian Nigeria News

The Nigerian Youth Coalition (NYC), has announced plans to hold a National North and South parley aimed at addressing the issue of rotating presidency in the country.

The National President of NYC, Aare Oladotun Hassan, who stated this in a statement issued during the week in Abuja, said that the parley has been scheduled for Monday, January 16, at the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) House, Abuja at 11 am.

With the theme: Rotational Presidency: A Beacon of Hope and Unity, Hassan explained that the event was chosen specifically to correct the wrong misunderstanding that the Northern region of the country wants to retain power in 2023, about the All Progressives Congress. (APC) Presidential candidate choice of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who won the ticket in the contested election.

He said: “However, after winning the primary election, we saw droves of APC Northern leaders decamping for PDP to give support to the bid of President Atiku Abubakar, while the candidate himself has not hidden his hatred for the shift of power to the South by saying. so that the North does not vote Yoruba or Ibo candidates. This is a big taint to the North in future Nigerian elections.

Adding: “We know that the administration led by President Mohammadu Buhari will surrender on May 29, but who?

“Northern continuity or rotational balance of power to the Southwest? That is why the Nigerian Youth Coalition (NYC), a coalition of Northern and Southern groups together with the Omoluabi Coalition Group led by Tunji Balogun are interested in providing a solution through constructive engagement and setting a proper record of power (Chair of the President and Deputy). President) shows the formula, including the office of President of the Senate, Speaker, Chief Justice, Chief of Staff and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) must now, will be rotated among the six geo-political zones, regardless of religion (Christianity). or Faith Muslim), ethnic or political pendulum.

“We believe it is right to lower our hearts and say that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves the full support of Nigerians, after paying his dues and aggressively fighting the military regime for the democracy we see today.

“Based on this premise, we will collaborate with the leadership of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and the office of the National Youth Leader of the party to achieve a successful hosting.

“We have carefully selected all the invited guests and stakeholders from all life’s work to be led by President Muhammadu Buhari as Special Guest of Honour, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima as Special Guest of Honour.
