Another day, another youth pastor was caring for a girl in his care. Will Christian conservatives defend this as well? Oh, don’t answer that…
Alexander Blackwelder was arrested this week after allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old girl. 26 years old, except sometimes showing his sermons Youtubeis the youth pastor at the East Main Street Church of Christ in Tupelo, Mississippi. Tupelo Police detective Goat thing told Reporters the police got a tip back on February 15 about the young pastor of the church having an inappropriate relationship with an aged parishioner.
Police first questioned the girl, with her parents present at the interview. The teenager denied any type of inappropriate relationship – but admitted to having one-on-one conversations on the phone and over the phone Snapchat. That alone was enough to tip off the detectives – and her parents agreed, signing a consent form that allowed the police to search the girl’s phone. There, he found sexually explicit photos and videos, as well as recordings of conversations with Blackwelder that led him to believe the two had done more than exchange photos.

In the first interview with the police, back on February 17, Blackwelder denied that there was anything inappropriate between him and the girl. But on Wednesday he was taken to the station – after police already had evidence of the phone call. He cracked this time. Detective Veal said:
“He admitted that he had been on two occasions and exchanged inappropriate videos and pictures.”
That’s all it takes. Blackwelder was booked on one count of the enticement of children to produce visual images of adult sexual behavior and two counts of sexual battery.

Prosecutors asked that Blackwelder be held without bail, and in court there was a Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Willie Allen agreed, saying:
“I think the charges are serious enough that we need to keep you safe.”
The question of bail will come up again in the next hearing. If found guilty of all crimes, the youth pastor could theoretically face up to 100 years in prison, 40 for enticement, 30 each for battery. However, it is unlikely that he will be given consecutive sentences for all of these charges. However, it shows how seriously the authorities are doing this.
Because, although some Christian conservatives have argued a few days ago, when an adult has sex with a 16-year-old girl, it does not lead her to the path known to God, it is a crime. For those who haven’t seen it, the story of a German youth pastor who proudly wrote about dating his wife since he was 19 and she was 14 went viral again this week. There are, shockingly, some folks defending – while under their breath they are decrying the LGBT community as “groomers” for crimes against young people that it is OK if they are gay. However, in real face, the grooming textbooks say it’s fine because it’s heterosexual.
We can’t help but notice it at least three The incident of a youth pastor just this week took trouble with the law for sexual misconduct with minors. It seems like the anger shown in drag shows should be directed at us. Or as you all faithfully know, Matthew 7:5:
You hypocrite, first remove the beam from your eye; Then you will see clearly to throw away the speck from your brother’s eye.
Enough said.
