‘You should be ashamed’ – Bridget Otoo tells IGP over alleged weed and cocaine saga

The press release added that the Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the allegations.

The Police Administration immediately launched an investigation into the matter and preliminary checks at the stations mentioned in the audio, East Legon and Accra Central Police Station, have revealed that there was no such complaint there.

As part of the investigation, the Police have also contacted the Narcotics Control Commission and the Ghana Armed Forces and both institutions indicated that no such incident occurred.

Investigations are ongoing, and so far, all efforts to identify the victims of the incident, said Dr. Patrick Asiedu, have been unsuccessful. Therefore, we would like to appeal to the victim and anyone else who has relevant information about the incident to contact us on 0200416540, to assist the Police investigation. This is a temporary number dedicated to this investigation,” the statement read.

In response to this, Metro TV broadcaster, Bridget Otoo has called out the IGP on the conduct of the police officers under his command.

On Twitter, he said “Your people are walking around planting cocaine and weed in Peoples car and instead of dealing with it, you care about the word ‘some’!! Don’t take the word of @GhPoliceService over the victim. The IGP should be ashamed of himself. You know the victim, your people have talked to the victim“.

In a series of tweets, he added that “The IGP tried to contact him and the victim refused because he did not trust you and your people. Shouldn’t you be worried about it? Will a policeman make an innocent victim for 20,000 (negotiable)? Who else is involved in this police crime?“.

We know from Patrick Timbilla’s ongoing recruiting scam experience! He is a potential IGP and has not been involved in a recruitment scam so imagine a police officer boldly planting cocaine and weed? I won’t hold my breath about who else is involved!“He concluded in the following tweets.
