A leading member of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mark Asibey Yeboah said the contribution of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for the NPP cannot be discounted.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s ‘Ekosii Sen’ program on Tuesday evening about the upcoming NPP flag contest, the former New Juaben MP acknowledged Dr Bawumia’s efforts to the party and also believed in the Vice President to be a good President. .
“He (Dr. Bawumia) has paid his dues for the party,” Asibey Yeboah spoke and mentioned the dramatic change in the fortunes of the NPP since Dr. Bawumia appeared to support his cause.
“If you see how our number has increased in the northern region; now in the northern region for example, we have 9 seats and the NDC also has 9 seats, you cannot discount his impact”. he stated, adding “Even in the Savannah Region, we have 3 and the NDC has 4. In the whole of the old Northern Region, the NPP has 16 and the NDC has 15. In the past, the NPP only had 3 seats out of 31”.
Dr. Asibey Yeboah also supported Dr. Bawumia is a good President citing the good work he has done as Vice President who he said was limited in decision making.
“He is done and for me when I look at his CV, he will be a good president,” the former Chairman of the Parliamentary Finance Committee was pressed.
“I think with the kind of CV he’s announced, he’d be a good President if given the nod.”
