World Cup 2026: We can beat any team if we play like we did against Ghana – Croatia star Ivan Perisic

Croatia forward Ivan Perisic believes Croatia will be unstoppable if they play like they did against Ghana on Saturday in Philadelphia. 

The PSV winger starred for the 2018 World Cup finalist as the edged Ghana 2-1 and finish in second place in Group L.

A first half strike from Petar Sucic and a late header from Nikola Vlasic was sandwiched by a consolation goal from Derrick Luckassen.

“It was good. Much better than in the first two games. They didn’t really attack in the first half, they gave us a lot of space, which suited us. We had chances, it opened up. There was a bit of panic at 1:1, but we scored a goal from the break. Everything is positive,” said the former Inter Milan and Spurs forward.

After finishing second, Croatia will now face Group K’s runners up Portugal while Ghana engages Colombia.

“We will be ready for the next game. At this level, whoever the opponent is, you have to give your best. If we play like we did with Ghana, we can beat anyone. Cooperation with Martin Baturina on the left side? I was in the full-back position,” he continued.

“I said a hundred times that I am there for whatever the team needs. I am no stranger to playing in a niche, I have played both full-back and wing-back. Baturin is in good form, he needs to continue like this, he works a lot for the team, he has really improved in the last six months.”
