World Cup 2026: Harry Kane praises D.R Congo goalkeeper Mpasi-Nzau after top England display
England striker Harry Kane was full of praise for D.R Congo goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi-Nzau after their Round of 32 clash in the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday.
In a difficult encounter at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Kane started for the Three Lions. At the same time, Mpasi-Nzau also started for his national team, with both players lasting the entire duration of the contest.
On the matchday, the D.R Congo goalkeeper was unplayable throughout the first half, making some important saves to send his side into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Although he conceded twice in the second half, he continued to pull off some amazing saves that impressed Harry Kane, who netted the brace to give England their 2-1 comeback victory.

Speaking in his post-match interview, Kane applauded Mpasi-Nzau for his performance in the goal of D.R Congo.
“Congo goalkeeper⦠congrats. Credit to him. He did some great saves,” Kane said.
After surviving the stern D.R Congo test, England have advanced to the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they will come up against Mexico.
