For a long time, Caitlyn Jenner’s bond with daughters Kylie and Kendall Jenner has been anything but legendary.
Kendall has revealed that she knew Cait was a woman long before she came out privately as trans — let alone publicly. That means they know each other very well.
So, it is possible that even a simple disagreement will not cause one of the parties to publicly display their contempt for millions of people.
In early February, a simple search of Caitlyn Jenner’s rare “Following” list revealed a conspicuous presence.
Her own daughter, 27-year-old Kendall Jenner, did not appear in the search.
And this is not the fault of the search function in the well-known Instagram app. Cait’s list is short enough that people can check it manually. No sign of Kendall.
Today, Kendall is 27 years old. If he becomes embroiled in drama, one can understand that he unfollows people in a very general way.
This would be a surprising step in the Kardashian clan. There, “family strength” is everything.
The family is known for circling the wagons when one of them faces opposition, even if it’s not enough. Although, frankly, Cait doesn’t seem to be a part of that aspect of the family.
We’ll admit that Kendall is a little old to do a dramatic unfollow. He’s 27, not 22.
Normally people would expect them to unfollow their ex friends or maybe people who talk about them or their family. Or, you know, just someone whose writing bothers him a bit.
But still, he was in his twenties. Kendall is a Millennial. One way for them to share their point of view is to click the button on social media.
However, we are not talking about Kendall hitting the unfollow button.
No, it’s about Caitlyn Jenner.
He is an adult, 73 years old. Making private family drama public by not following her daughter in front of the eyes of millions? It was small and strange.
We are not being ageist here. The suggestion is not that the 73-year-old shouldn’t be allowed to mess around and have fun on social media.
This is about the real child. Adult child, but still. Of course, at the end of the month, he will follow Kendall again. But what happened in the interim?
We may never know. Or we can end up finding it The Kardashians. Or … Cait is 73 years old. Could it be that he accidentally unfollowed his daughter by clicking the wrong finger, and didn’t notice right away?
