Uh oh! Prince Harry has been called out for lying in his new book!
As you can see, the 38-year-old’s much-anticipated memoir spare finally released this week, bringing a bunch of jaw-dropping revelations. While a lot of tea has been spilled about her time as a senior member of the royal family, including details of a physical altercation with Prince William, he also released some reminiscences about his life. What’s that like, you might ask? Well, it’s just a fact that the shop is on Kindergarten Max (English version of TJ Maxx Kab)! And not just a casual shopper from a department store. Not! Harry is a Maxxinista through and through!
In the book, the Duke of Sussex revealed that despite receiving a formal clothing allowance from his father King Charles IIIshe likes to buy clothes from TK Maxx during their “once a year sale,” writing:
“For everyday casual clothes, I go to TK Maxx, a discount store. I love the once-a-year sales, when they’ll be showered with things from Gap or J Crew, things that are just out of season or a little worn out.

He then went out of his way to detail the benefits of the discount sale, saying:
“If you time it right, arrive on the first day of the sale, you can pick up the same clothes as everyone else who paid the highest price on the street! For two hundred pounds you can look like a fashion plate.
While shopping at the store, Harry claimed that he had a “system” where he would arrive about “fifteen minutes” before closing (a sales associate’s worst nightmare, LOLz!). He recalled:
“Take the red bucket. Hurry to the top floor. Start systematically working up one rack and down the other. If I find something promising, I’ll hold it up to my chest or legs, standing in front of the mirror.
At Archwell The founder said he did not “dawdle” whether or not he liked a certain “color” or “style,” and would not try clothes in the store. Sometimes a friend comes to help him:
“If I’m on the fence about it, I’ll ask Billy the Rock. He likes to moonlight as my stylist.
In the end, Harry says he’ll be glad the shopping spree is over because he won’t have to worry about buying more for a while:
“By closing time, we’ll run out of giant shopping bags, feeling victorious. Now the papers won’t call me a slob. At least for a while. Better yet, I won’t have to think about clothes again for another six months.”
Can we just say, Harry loves a good bargain when it comes to clothes! However, it turns out that the so-called “one year sale” is not a thing! In fact, TK Maxx addressed the claim, insisting that the store does not “sell out”. A spokesperson for the fashion brand explained Express in a statement Wednesday:
“While we love Prince Harry as a huge fan, we have to make it clear that we don’t do sales. Instead, we offer great value, style and savings all year round.
Well…
To give Harry the benefit of the doubt, maybe he was talking about when the clothes were marked down to clearance and thought they had to deal with one every year – or he just got the details wrong! Either way, he has been called out for a mistake, and no doubt this will only add to the chatter with online critics who continue blasting him for supposedly lying about something bigger! Harry should probably double check this fact.
