Adding to his creativity, Kody Brown blames Janelle for leaving others and anything but herself.
That is fought Sister Wife the star seems unwilling to face the truth. Which is a shame, because all he needs is a mirror to find the culprit.
But that doesn’t mean Janelle’s departure was a simple, one-step process.
Everyone likes him now that he has a new life. How did we get here?

Obviously, we’ve all been watching this game for years.
Before the family’s big move to Flagstaff to fulfill Kody’s big dream of Coyote Pass, most people expected Meri to break up. Or at least, a lot of people sympathize with him and hope it happens.
But after the move, the dynamic shifted. Christine left, followed by Janelle. And Kody apparently unilaterally decided that Meri can also be the former, too.

As previously reported (at length), various inside sources have opened up about Janelle’s alleged thought process.
“Janelle is a strong independent woman and knows she can do it on her own,” the insider said In Touch Weekly last year.
The same source later characterized Janelle as deciding to move on from Kody after he “grew up.”

Moving to Flagstaff isn’t the only problem in this plural marriage.
In recent years, Kody has openly feuded with the adult children he shares with Janelle.
We can sympathize with Kody’s desire to follow the guidelines amid the COVID-19 pandemic. But he made unilateral rules for the whole family. Christine and Janelle, and some of their children, bristled at Kody’s limitations.

We saw this play early last year, during the January 2022 episode.
Janelle shared how concerned Kody is about his sons, Gabe and Garrison, accusing him of not being “careful” with his social life.
“I think you know the big picture I’m trying to get at, and I want you to respect that, okay?” he insisted.

Janelle’s response was very simple, “You know, f–k off.” She decided to spend Thanksgiving 2020 with her children, not with Kody.
In November 2021, Christine made a wonderful announcement:
After more than a quarter of a century of marriage to Kody, she left.

Since the marriage was spiritual and never legally recognized, it was a simple matter – at least, in terms of documents.
Christine has done well for herself. He chose himself and he chose happiness.
And Janelle chose to follow in his footsteps. Kody wasn’t too happy.

Kody was sad last year about how good friends Janelle and Christine were now that Christine had left him.
He accused Janelle of “rejecting” him and “choosing to have” a close relationship with Christine over his ex-wife.
It really seems like this is framed as Christine who is doing this, rather than alienating the two of them.

For the record, Janelle feels like she’s in an awkward position.
“Now it’s a relationship [have] changed. We have said some very harsh things to Kody. It’s different now,” Janelle said before leaving the marriage. “I’m damned if I do and damned if I don’t.”
Fortunately, Janelle and Christine are living their best lives. We’re sure we’ll continue to learn more about Janelle’s journey.
