Indonesia’s parliament recently approved a law that, in part, bans sex outside of marriage, making the act punishable by a year in prison.

Human rights groups fear that this will lead to the blocking of dissent and privacy rights, and will also target the LGBTQ community because gay marriage is illegal in Indonesia.
