I have to say I couldn’t be more excited about Labour’s parliamentary election defense of a northern seat that the party has held for as long as anyone can remember.
There are almost no interesting bets and it is very difficult to draw conclusions about the outcome unless the Tories are in a bad position as we know them.
Unfortunately, the last few elections have all been placed in this category and hardly covered in PB.
What we need is some Conservative defense and it will be very interesting to see if their views change on the blue wall.
Unfortunately, we rarely see them because the government will go to extraordinary lengths to make sure they don’t have to have that kind of defense. In addition, members of parliament are healthier than ever before and vacancies caused by illness or death in office are now rare.
