Before the concert, which started around 7 pm, Wendy Shay through the foundation and Rufftown Records organized a free health screening and vaccination session on the same ground.
When it was finally time for the concert, the award-winning singer delighted fans and patrons with a non-stop energetic performance as she belted out classic hits from her catalog.
She occasionally pauses to interact with her fans and insists that she is the best female musician in Ghana today – and of course she has earned the bragging rights.
Aside from Wendy Shay who headlined the night, they had support from some of Ghana’s best musicians and their friends on the night.
The likes of Fameye, Sister Afia, Eno Barony, Amerado, Ras Kuuku, Kwame Yogot, Larruso, Bosom Pyung, Kwaku Darlington, Darkovibes, Malcolm Nuna, and others showed up in style and gave fans the same at the one night concert. they will cherish forever.
Memories are made as every inch in front is occupied by music lovers. Crowds of people reached the road, causing traffic jams on the Accra – Kasoa highway. One would guess more than 20,000 people attended.
The first edition of the ‘Shay Concert’ was held in 2018, with a second edition in 2019.
Wendy Shay and her management, however, took a break from organizing concerts in 2022 when the COVID-19 pandemic literally brought the world to its knees.
