The Presidential candidate of the Labor Party, Peter Obi, said that he and his deputy candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed won the February 25, 2023 presidential election, and will go to court to “take the mandate”.
Obi at a press conference in Abuja yesterday, March 2, said he won the election and will prove it in court. Speaking during the press conference, Obi said;
“The elections we have just witnessed have been conducted and the results announced as programmed. This is a clear deviation from the rules and guidelines of elections as promised. These elections did not meet the minimum standards expected of a free, transparent, credible and fair election. It will go down as one of the most controversial elections ever held in Nigeria.Good and hardworking Nigerians have been robbed yet again by our trusted leaders.
The process by which people enter the office is more fundamental and more important than what they do. I believe that if you have to answer to your highness, your process of coming to the office should be very good.
Let me assure you that we will explore all options to seize our mandate. We won the election and will prove it to Nigerians. Do not despair’.
He appealed to all Nigerians to be peaceful and law-abiding as he went to court to ‘take his mandate.”
