Today was the annual local election briefing for the media by Tory election specialist Lord Hayward and he made a pretty accurate prediction about Culture Secretary Dorries. It is true to form at the time that after the polls have closed on May 4th and we are waiting for the results Hayward suggested that he would go on TV arguing that the Tories would have done far better if Johnson was still in post.
In fact, in the review and trend analysis, the Tories are still struggling but doing better than they have seen in recent years. One sign is Sunak’s improved personal ratings – a trend that is still visible in the voting numbers.
