Serial liar and freshman House Rep. George Santos (RN.Y.) has been caught on video even lying about his name.
A 2019 clip shows Santos in the audience addressing a panel at a New York City event encouraging members of the LGBTQ community to leave the Democratic Party.
“My name is Anthony Devolder,” He introduced himself video posted on Twitter. “I’m a New York City resident. I recently founded a group called United for Trump, so if you want to follow that, that would be great,” he said.
In another clip, the Queens Republican introduced Santos during his first 2020 campaign and surprised the audience as to why Santos has changed name from Anthony Devolder. When Santos took the podium, he introduced himself to the audience as “George Anthony Devolder Santos – commonly known as Anthony.”
CNN has also found out social media posts from 2020 Santos became George Devolder.
Fatima Devolder is the name of Santos’ mother. He also named the company that started in 2021 Devolder Organization. Funding for the mysterious company — which had no website and was disbanded shortly after its inception — was bleak. But Santos stated that he earned a salary of $750,000 (with dividends of up to $10 million) after he reported earning a salary of $55,000 the previous year.
First Gen-Z Congressman Maxwell Frost (D-Florida) marveled at the tweet names already used by members of parliament – including “George Santos” – it is false?
“‘George Santos’ has also introduced himself as ‘George Devolder’ and ‘Anthony Devolder,'” he wrote. “Why do you still support the Republican Congressman George Santos?” Lieu asked the speaker.
Santos has lied about his Jewish heritage, work experience, income, college graduation (which didn’t happen), and even made it up “summa cum laude” average value.
He is being investigated by prosecutors in Long Island, where Republican leaders have asked him to resign.
But House Republicans don’t know what to do.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida) said on CNN on Friday that Santos should go through the House ethics process through his fantasy resume. But he said Santos should not “submit to shunning.”
