Washington Post Columnists Point Out GOP’s Sarah Huckabee Sanders Problem

Washington Post opinion writers Paul Waldman and Greg Sargent point out how Arkansas Republican Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ (R) response to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address is emblematic of a wider problem for the GOP.

In their column on Wednesday, Waldman and Sargent said they were “watching Sanders play around online term — just months after his party did poorly in the midterm elections while campaigning against the matter — clearly spelled trouble for the GOP.

“Republicans are very adept at attracting attention, using the monstrous media apparatus to shine a spotlight on the controversies they are creating today,” he wrote. “But today he couldn’t be persuaded which is wider general.”

“Biden talked about protecting Social Security and the need to continue to create green manufacturing and technology jobs in the future, many for Americans without college degrees,” he said. “Then Sanders got confused about the confusing acronym. Democrats have to would love to take that contrast to 2024.
