Vodafone Red Connect – Create a more focused and customer focused workforce
It is important to maintain employee engagement as the business landscape changes. Organizations that invest in internal engagement platforms are better positioned to build a more productive and engaged workforce, adapt to changing market conditions, and stay ahead of the competition.
Vodafone Ghana is aware of this and, over the past few years, has engaged its employees on a platform called Red Connect. Vodafone Ghana created Red Connect to help employees bond, network, and rally around common organizational causes.

The platform isn’t just for networking, though. The latest edition of Red Connect turns the focus on products, services, and customers. On the evening of March 21, Vodafone Ghana employees in this edition of Red Connect gathered for an internal quiz called “You think you know?”. The quiz was designed to test employees’ knowledge of Vodafone Ghana’s products and services.
“I cannot overemphasize the need for organizations to build a strong customer focus on employees,” says Ashiokai Akrong, Vodafone Ghana’s Human Resources Director. “We believe that the more our employees know about our products and services, the better we can serve our customers.”
Representatives from various units in the company participate in events where they compete to win prizes. Employees appear in numbers dressed in traditional attire, echoing the agenda of the Ghanaian month.

Famous Ghanaian celebrity, David Dontoh, expertly moderated the quiz competition, adding excitement to the event. He captivated the audience with his witty remarks and humor, and his professionalism made the competition run smoothly.
Vodafone Ghana’s strong focus on employees and customers has won it many prestigious awards. Earlier this year, the prestigious Institute of Top Employers announced Vodafone Ghana as a Top Employer for Ghana and Africa. The Institute recognized Vodafone Ghana as the Top Employer in Ghana for the past five years and for the next four years as the Top Employer in Ghana and Africa.
By using Red Connect to encourage employee engagement and build a customer-centric culture, Vodafone Ghana is setting itself up for long-term success in a competitive market.
