Sanwo-Olu made the appeal when he briefed journalists at the Lagos House, Marina, on the current situation caused by the redesign of the Naira in the country.

He called on Lagosians to shun all forms of violence, arson and rioting, as they are not the solution to the difficulties and frustrations they are currently experiencing.

“Let us thank the good people of Lagos for their patience and perseverance even in these difficult times.

“Fellow Lagosians, this is a sincere call to you, as your Governor, to remain calm at this time, and refrain from all forms of violence, arson and rioting.

“Despite the difficulties and frustrations we all face, violence and destruction will never be the answer.

“We know that there are unscrupulous people who want to sow the seeds of violence and discord by their words and actions, all with the aim of robbing you of the opportunity to vote for you in the Presidential and National Assembly elections on February 25.

“Don’t allow them to use you to achieve their evil goals,” the governor said.
