The Management of the University of Ghana has expressed its determination to implement rules that will make the University safe and conducive for all students.
The University has taken comprehensive measures such as installation of CCTV to arrest anyone who wants to violate the directives of the University.
At a press conference to update the media on the newly approved charges and the arrest of 18 people who forced their way into the University and assaulted University Security, the Registrar, Emelia Agyei-Mensah, said the new arrangement that offers housing facilities to 100 level students with a peak. to the full in-out-out Policy in the academic year 2025/2026, has led to several court cases.
He said the University will be guided by the legal team to ensure that it is done.
Pro Vice Chancellor, Academics and Students, Prof. Gordon Awandare, said that student accommodation has plagued the University for many years.
But he is optimistic the new approach to accommodation will help disperse students and prevent vandalism.
Regarding the adjustment of Academic Facility User fees for the academic year 2022/2023, Prof. Awandare, stated that the fees charged are not illegal as some of the public acknowledge.
He advises those who are having challenges meeting their fees to contact the Office of Student Financial Aid for assistance.
