Gov. David Umahi has lifted the embargo on the enthronement of traditional rulers in communities across the country.

Umahi made the announcement on Saturday, during the All Progressive Congress (APC) Local Government Rally in Isu, the Headquarters of Onicha Local Government Area of ​​the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor has suspended the traditional ruler of Isinkwo community in Onicha Local Government Area, Mr. Josephat Ikengwu, over allegations of incessant killings in his area.

The governor ordered the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mr. Donatus Njoku, to initiate plans to ensure smooth training in the state.

He warned that killings in the region must stop, adding that curses would follow the perpetrators of such crimes.

He further promised the people that he will work hard to ensure the elevation of the Federal College of Education in Isu to the university level, if elected Senator to represent Ebonyi South senatorial zone of the state in the February General Election.

The Governor’s wife, Mrs. Racheal Umahi, appealed to the people to uphold the existing equity by voting Mr. Francis Nwifuru for the Governor and other party candidates, during the general election.

“In 2015, Abakaliki people supported us, they sent kings and queens to support us, it is time to pay back.

“By the crowd here, I’m sure we’re ready to pay it back.

“Let us not mortgage our chances in the future. The people of the South should support the people of Ebonyi North so that in another 16 years, it will be our turn again,” Mrs. Umahi said.

The APC Governorship Flagbearer, Mr. Nwifuru and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, promised to present the people of Onicha, proud of the place, if elected governor on March 11, the governorship election in the state.

Chidiebere Agwu, Chairman of the Council, Prof. Okorie Ani, Mr. Donatus Njoku, Prof. Chigozie Ogbu, Mrs. Chinyere Nwanoke, Mr. Chika Nwangele, Mrs. Elizabeth Onwe, among others, promised that the people would ensure his victory.

The party’s candidate for Ohanivo Federal Constituency, Mr. Felix Igboke, while appealing for the people’s vote, assured of positive representation in the National Assembly.

The National Treasurer of APC, Mr. Matthew Uguru and the Director General of the Divine Mandate Campaign Council, Mr. Austin Umahi, called on the people of Onicha to vote for the party’s candidate in the interest of equality, fairness and justice.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the rally featured the blessing and adoption of gubernatorial candidates and other party candidates from the zone in the coming general elections by traditional rulers.
