Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr Naledi Pandor, will host the 8th Annual Ubuntu Awards at the Cape Town International Convention Center (CTICC) tonight.

The award ceremony is aimed at recognizing South Africans who have made a significant contribution to projecting a positive image of the country internationally through diligent service in their respective fields.

The event took place after the opening of Parliament.
It brings together leaders from various sectors of society including the Cabinet, civil society leaders, and ambassadors and high commissioners accredited to SA.

The Ubuntu Awards were launched in 2015 and have since become a platform to celebrate the achievements and contributions of those who work hard to promote SA’s image.
Minister Pandor will deliver a keynote speech during the event.
He will also be joined by other officials who will talk about the importance of SA’s image.

Moreover, it is an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of Ubuntu, which is at the core of South Africa’s national identity.
