The undisputed heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk set for April 29 at Wembley in London has fallen through, according to the Ukrainian’s manager.
“No matter how much Usyk compromises, he is pushed more,” said Egis Klimas, first reported by Steve Kim.
There has been a long-running war of words between the two camps, and while April 29 has been mooted for the mammoth meeting, nothing has been confirmed.
Frank Warren, Fury’s promoter, is hopeful that a deal can be resurrected within the next 24 hours, but the possibility of this disagreement could prove fatal.
Last week, the Gypsy King confirmed that the match was definitely on, and he had taken to social media during the training for the fight.
But the Ukrainian manager and long-time adviser Klimas issued a strong declaration for the Fury team, and if the fight does not happen, Usyk will pivot to the mandatory defense of the WBA title against Daniel Dubois. .
