Twitter users report broad outage in latest problem

Twitter Inc. users. reported problems uploading the service on Wednesday in the latest outage since billionaire Elon Musk took over the company and laid off thousands of employees.

Users began reporting problems uploading tweets from the site before 10am London on Tuesday, according to outage tracking platform Downdetector.

This follows an issue last month that prevented users in the US and Asia from tweeting, checking messages or following new accounts.

Emails seeking comment from Twitter were not immediately returned; the company previously removed its entire public relations department.

Twitter has seen sweeping staff cuts, which began with a 50% reduction in employees after Musk took over last year in an effort to cut costs following a $44 billion acquisition. The company laid off additional staff on Saturday, including workers in its engineering and product departments, people familiar with the matter said.

Musk last year cut more than 3,700 jobs at Twitter, or half of the company’s workforce.
