Twitter recently added 30 more tokens to its Crypto Price Index or $Cashtags feature. The $Cashtags service allows users to check the prices of individual cryptocurrencies. Users only need to enter the name of the cryptocurrency to check its value. Twitter started this feature in 2012 but added cryptocurrencies on December 21, 2022.
The Importance Of This Decision And Features Of $Cashtags
Users of the social media platform have been applauding this decision by Twitter. Now they can search the current price of ETH, BTC, XRP, DOGE, LTC, BUSD, SOL, ADA, DAI, AVAX, UNI, SHIB, BNB, USDC, OKD, LIDO, DOT, TRX, BCH, XLM, MANA, and SAND , etc.. The new CEO of the platform, Elon Musk, is a staunch supporter of DogeCoin (DOGE).

As seen above, one user expressed his happiness and gratitude for adding $DOGE to his $Cashtags. This new addition will make access to important information about cryptocurrency, such as price, accessible. TradingView allows price information on the platform in the $Cashtags feature.

In the list of new cryptocurrencies, Twitter has added top 20 by market capitalization in additional time.
Another function of the Cashtags feature is direct access to the price page. When users add the $ symbol in front of eligible stocks and cryptocurrencies, it will generate a clickable link. This link will take the user to the pricing page.
In December 2022, the platform also improved Independent Search results for Cashtags. Now showing real time price chart. The company’s devs will gradually add cryptocurrencies to the mix, but the timeline for the addition is not specified.
In addition to extracting information from TradingView, the price chart will also include a link to the Robinhood trading platform. At this point, there is no evidence of an official partnership agreement between Twitter and Robinhood.
Another Crypto-Specific Update Coming to Twitter
Elon Musk is the face of Twitter 2.0. Under the leadership of the new CEO, the social media platform will continue to add features and functions specifically for cryptocurrencies. Starting with Cashtags, the company will also enable crypto payments down the line.
