Tunisia Workers Rally Against President Over Cost Of Living | General News

Tunisia’s most powerful trade unions held rallies in several cities to protest against President Kais Saied.

Thousands of members of the UGTT union blamed the rising cost of living and the recent arrests of anti-government figures, including union officials.

In the largest demonstration in the southern city of Sfax, demonstrators waved banners reading “Tunisia is not for sale” and “Stop the attack on trade union freedom”.

President Saied accused what he called “traitors” of responsibility for rising prices and food shortages.
