The Tudec Development Center and the manager of the Galaxy International School in Ghana, have commiserated with Turkish and Syrian families affected by the deadly earthquake that struck Turkey and several neighboring countries.

More than 4,300 people have been killed, and rescuers are racing to pull survivors from under the rubble after an earthquake devastated Turkey and Syria, leaving destruction and debris on each side of the border.

One of the strongest earthquakes to hit the region in a century shook residents from their beds around 4 a.m. Monday, sending tremors as far as Lebanon and Israel.

In Turkey, at least 2,921 people were killed and more than 15,800 others were injured, according to the head of Turkey’s disaster services, Yunus Sezer.

In neighboring Syria, at least 1,451 people were killed. According to the Syrian state news agency SANA, 711 people have been killed in government-held areas, mostly in Aleppo, Hama, Latakia, and Tartus regions.

Commenting on the disaster in his home country, the Tudec Development Center and the manager of the Galaxy International School in Ghana, “express their sincere condolences to all the Turkish and Syrian families who lost their loved ones in the terrible earthquake.”

“We also wish the wounded a speedy recovery and do not forget those who are still waiting in the ruins to be helped. We also pray fervently for their speedy salvation. Our prayers are for the government and all citizens of Turkey and Syria to be safe.

“We are happy that Christian Atsu, a Ghanaian footballer who plays for the Turkish Football League, has been saved from the rubble. We wish him a speedy recovery as well.

“Finally we thank the government and the people of Ghana for their great support in these difficult times. May God protect the world from all future calamities.”
