Trump’s Hateful Attention-Mongering Since His Third Assassination Attempt Is Disgusting.

Trump’s reaction to the gunman’s attempt to assassinate him was bizarre, but not surprising. He immediately branded the attack towards him as positive, saying, ” I’ve studied assassinations, and I must tell you the most impactful people — the people who do the most, take a look at Abraham Lincoln. “The people who make the biggest impact, they’re the ones that they go after. They don’t go after the ones that don’t do much.” The abnormality of that statement amid the chaotic shooting scene was disturbing and unpresidential.

The cry against political violence emerged quickly from both parties; however, it didn’t take long before Trump and his Cabinet started blaming Democrats and the media for the incident. Acting Attorney General and Trump’s personal attorney Todd Blanche, accused reporters as complicit by saying; “Many people in this room, if we’re going to be honest about it, have done it,” “They’re just as guilty as a lot of people on X when you have reporters, when you have media, media just being overly critical and calling the president horrible names for no reason and without evidence, without proof.”

The blind hypocrisy of the finger-pointing Republican Party is staggering. Trump’s crimes and abuses of power are not fake news made up by the ” libs” that he hates. Rather, they are documented facts. The cult of Trump is dedicated to denying facts about Trump’s divisive, violent words, behaviors, and crimes. Blanche’s statement after the shooting was made in the spirit of Trump’s constant demonization and scare tactics against Democrats and the media, the kind of hate speech that caused the deadly Jan. 6th insurrection and the deaths and injuries to some political figures and their families. He is undoubtedly on record, in his own words and actions, as the most politically violent and cruel president in American history. The MAGAs deny what their eyes and ears see and hear. That is the way of a cult.

Trump’s verbal legacy of hateinspiring rhetoric;

Democrats: “The party of hate, evil, and Satan.”

Norah O’Donnell;  Called her a disgrace on 60 Minutes because she read a derogatory portion of the shooter’s manifesto

Never Trump” Republicans: “Human scum”.

Joe Biden: “Crooked Joe,” “Mentally impaired”.

Kamala Harris: “The Antichrist” (labeled in 2024.

General Media: “Fake News,” “Enemy of the People,” “Disgrace”.

  • Mexican Immigrants: “Rapists,” “Bringing drugs,” “Bringing crime”.
  • Immigrants (General): “Poisoning the blood of our country,” “Animals,” “Not human,” “Savages”.
  • Haiti/African Nations: Referred to them as “Shithole countries”.
  • Arab Americans: Claimed “thousands and thousands” cheered on 9/11 (a claim found to be unfounded). PoliticoPolitico +3
  • On Protestors: “I’d like to punch them in the face”.
  • We vs. Them”: Framing opponents as “evil,” “crazy,” or “ignorant,” while positioning himself as the only one who can solve issues.
  • On Nancy Pelosi: ” She is an animal, a crazy person.”
  • Gavin Newsom: Gavin New “scum”.
  • Robert Mueller’s death: ” I’m glad he’s dead”.

There is a distinct difference between the negative references to Trump and the style in which Trump attacks individuals and groups. Trump’s strategy is to promote hatred, demonize, and legitimize violence against people who oppose him or who make him feel less than. Conversely, his opponents base their criticisms and name- calling on his universally acknowledged cruel, illegal, and un- American policies and his violent rhetoric. The cry from Trump critics is about stopping and silencing his criminal, factual assault on the rule of law and our individual rights. Trump’s rhetoric is to incite violence in his followers to stop any opposition to his autocratic siege against democracy.

The violence will not stop unless Trump can control his violent tendencies and accept that there will be no kings tolerated in America.
