Donald Trump’s lawyers say the latest classified folder turned over to investigatorsfront-end in the future is a folder – a folder, and a folder only – that the former president used to block out the light that disturbed him at night.
Timothy Parlatore dismissed the folder on CNN as “one of the funnier aspects of this whole thing” and claimed it was “meaningless” because it was empty.
It said a folder marked “Classified Evening Summary” was found in Trump’s bedroom at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
“He has one of the landline phones next to the bed, and it has a blue light on it, and it’s always up at night,” Parlatore said. “So he took a manilla folder and put it on top so he could turn off the light so he could sleep at night.”
He claimed Justice Department investigators were “crazy” when they learned about the folder and issued the subpoena.
“Now the president has to find a different way to keep the blue light out of his eyes,” he said.
It is not clear what happened to the document or documents that were originally in the folder.
