From Christmas holidays to Halloween, nails now embrace all kinds of celebrations. And while not everyone loves Valentine’s Day, they’ve also gotten the nail art treatment.
In the past few weeks, influencers and professional makeup artists have been following each other to show off their manicures and nail art in full for this celebration of love. Sure, it’s kitsch, but it’s also very popular, with tens of millions of views and massive search interest for this real work of art as Valentine’s Day approaches.
The SpaSeekers* platform researched these love-themed manicures to find the most popular.
Contrary to what you might think, it’s not hearts or steamy reds that dominate the trend, although they still do.

It is, in fact, ‘swirl nails’ that recently rose to the top of this manicure inspiration. With more than 56 million views on TikTok and a 45% increase in Google searches, this trend includes the application of color swirls for nails in colorful waves, bringing a fun touch to any look.

More classic, it is the pink version of the French manicure that takes second place in the top list of Valentine’s Day inspiration. This highly romantic trend has seen search interest increase by 83% on Google, and has generated almost 2 million views on the Chinese social network.
Red nails – a classic – completed the podium this Valentine’s Day, with a 24% increase in search interest and around 3 million views on TikTok. At first glance, this may seem tame, if not classic, but the rest of the rating makes room for some more creative ideas.

At the bottom of the list are nail art designs featuring black and white hearts (+24% and almost 450,000 views), French manicure decorated with hearts (+504% and 20,000 views), ombre glitter nails (+22% and 400,000 views), and red French tips (+ 22% and 330,000 views).
Note that in the tenth position, a smiley appears on the pink nails – the original inspiration for Valentine’s Day, but no less funny and creative. All that remains is to choose which one is the most suitable to send the right message to that special someone this February 14th.
*From a long list of popular Valentine’s Day nail trends, keywords for each nail trend were analyzed via Google Adwords to find the percentage increase in searches each year. Hashtag #(nail trend) was analyzed through TikTok to see the number of views. These two numbers are then used to create a list of top trends.
