Tom Schwartz answered bevy of questions about “Scandoval” while looking at it Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday night.
Before targeting fans with “vitriol,” explain why they are more upset Tom Sandoval than Rachel Lewisand share his thoughts on that future, the Vanderpump Rules star revealed why not tell Ariana Madix about their relationship and confirmed when he found out about the romance.
“[Sandoval] did a good job of cheering me up and also, I was tired of my own life, my own problems and he said he had a game plan, he would do the right thing, and then he just kept putting it off,” Schwartz explained what he didn’t tell Ariana in April 5 episode of WWHL. “I am [was] given the narrative that he had broken up with Ariana or tried many, many times, and he didn’t like it. He is not well. They are not intimate.”
though Jax Taylor suggesting that Schwartz had just learned of Sandoval and Raquel’s relationship, Schwartz admitted to being the host. Andy Cohen he found out that Sandoval had an affair with Raquel in August 2022.
“I learned in August, at the end of August, about the affair, one night stand, alleged, and no, I did not act as a decoy,” he said. “That one night in August. But it was like a crisis. Tom was like a midlife crisis.
“I just know what he’s talking about. The one night stand in August then became, from my point of view, like an emotional relationship, which is still inappropriate, but I don’t think it’s a linear thing,” he said.
Then, in January, Schwartz learned more about what happened between Sandoval and Raquel.
“Tom come to me [and said] he was in love with Raquel,” Schwartz recalled. “I was surprised but not surprised because… it was [kind of] open secret. After that, Tom kind of became flagrant. He was rude after she told him that she was in love. It was like a release for him.
While Schwartz was able to go to Ariana with the information, he thought Sandoval would come clean.
“He’s going to sit down [Ariana] come down, they’ll tell you about the whole thing — well the whole version, maybe the edited version — they have a plan,” Schwartz said.
As for how Ariana feels about him now, Schwartz says he “doesn’t care.”
“I still love him. I’m here if they need me and I’ll be there sporadically,” he said.
According to Schwartz, he wasn’t trying to instill sympathy for Sandoval but felt some fans had gone too far.
“He knows what he did was disgusting. He really couldn’t have handled the matter in a worse way. I understand the vitriol. I get it. But the vigilance has gotten a little out of control,” said Andy. “I just want to remind people, to breathe, they know what they’re doing is terrible, and so does Raquel. The threat, the mob mentality, it’s a bit out of control.
Schwartz then explained that during a recent visit to St. Louis, Sandoval met with rude fans.
“People were taking pictures and threatening to pour beer and apparently some people were shouting ‘Cheater!'” he shared.
And while Schwartz confirmed he was “mad at Raquel,” he said most of his anger was directed at Sandoval.
“I’m even more angry with Sandoval because he took advantage of my kindness and he put a lot of people, not just me, in a very compromising situation where our integrity was at stake,” Schwartz said. “Honestly, he’s an obsession. He’s known for having one obsession. Maybe it’s a sidecar … It’s his heroin. He’s addicted. It’s the infatuation of all infatuations. Raquel is Tom’s heroin. He’s lost in the sauce.”
Later, the WWHL: After the ShowSchwartz revealed that he believes Sandoval and Raquel’s romance will last forever.
“I think it would be a miracle if they did,” he said. “I know they care a lot about each other, but even in the short time they have been in love… It’s become toxic and I don’t know if it’s sustainable… Then you add to the whole nation thinking you’re scumbags. .”
“It’s too much for me but we’ll see if love wins,” he added.
