Tom Schwartz dealing with a relationship with a “dear friend” Yes Wenberg.

After confessing Scheana Shay that the two stay up until 4 am Wednesday episode of Vanderpump RulesSchwartz gushes about her longtime hairstylist, explains the nature of their relationship, and reacts to it Rachel Lewis‘ a controversial Instagram photo of the two.

“Jo is a bad hairdresser. … I think she’s a beautiful soul,” Schwartz told Us Weekly on Wednesday, February 22. Humans are cool, and we just hang out.”

“I just got out of a 12-year relationship. I can’t be faithful – I can’t dive back into another relationship,” Schwartz continued. “It’s not fair to other people because I love my business and my family, and I love myself again.”

As Pump Rules fans can remember, Schwartz was first linked to Jo, a former friend of Christian Douteat the end of last year, when the two were seen in concert in an Instagram Story shared by Raquel.

While some had hoped to see Schwartz and Katie reconcile, Schwartz, who did not initiate the split, shot down the idea.

“I always have a special place in my heart [for Katie]and I will always miss the best part of us, but I would probably say in terms of romance or rekindling marriage, it’s over,” he said.

But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t miss her ex-husband. In fact, after recently listening to the unopened voicemail Katie left him in January 2022, Schwartz became emotional.

“It’s one of those, like, voicemails you leave when you’re dating. It’s very nonchalant. It’s not about anything in particular,” he said. “It’s like, ‘Hey, just checking, you know, to see about this. ‘ And I will say, I miss having it. I’m embarrassed to be single, but it’s nice to have someone where you can just, like, call and be like, ‘Hey, what’s up? You know, I accidentally shad earlier. Very embarrassing. I have to stop at the gas station.’”

“It was, like, tears from the beginning, but I will say, now I’m in a good, healthy place,” she said.

Additionally, during an interview with Us Weekly, Schwartz insisted that the photo he took with Raquel “wasn’t meant to be a jab.”

“It was not intentional. It is not premeditated. I don’t want to do anything to hurt Katie. I’m still in love with him, and not mean,” he said. “It’s not like we’re coordinating here. Like, ‘Yeah, let’s stir the pot a little.’ I think we had a great night, and we celebrated a milestone. [Raquel] want to show love.”

Although Schwartz may not have intended to upset anyone, he admits he wasn’t “naive” about the moment.

“I know that with the storyline of this season – naturally, it can be interpreted a little rudely. But I’ve never been mean,” he said. “Perhaps from time to time I can be careless or a little inconsiderate, But in regards to Katie, I do not want to hurt her. It was never my intention. Because of everything we have done, I feel very good.

As Pump Rules fans may have seen, Katie responded to Raquel’s photo with a message that said, “You really thought you did something here, but this comment is ATE LOLOL,” and later slammed Raquel as “desperado.”

Looking back, Schwartz said he was “wary” about seeing the social media response.

“I’m not too virtuous to appreciate some good tea. I like gossip,” admitted. “But also, I’m just very careful about comments or diving into the comment section. I saw some comments [about VPR episodes], and it hurts when you see something that is special to you – which is my marriage and relationship with Katie. Not perfect, but a rich and complex relationship. To see only, like, reduced or reduced to, like, 240 characters – sometimes it hurts.

Vanderpump Rules Season 10 airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
