3.25 Newcastle – Light Kitty looks to be beaten at Eider
At Beat the Eider Handicap Chase looks usually competitive with 15 runners set to go to the post, including well-fancied Light Kitty for the coach who won last year Christian Williams.
Williams has become a master in the art of readying one for the big handicap prize and Kitty’s light seems to be well considered in most of the form, which includes chasing home stablemate Win My Wings in the Scottish Grand National last year.
The Galloping Bear he may be 10 years old but has the lowest mileage in this field, landing the Surrey National and the Grade Three Grand National Trial at Haydock last year.
Top weight Oscar Eva picked up a nice prize at Cheltenham in December and trainer Tim Vaughan has had Grand National ambitions for nine years.
3.07 Chepstow – 15 out to secure Cheltenham qualification
A final qualifying point for the Cheltenham Festival in the bid for 15 lines Pertemps Network Fault Barrier (3.07) in Chepstow.
Former prisoner Willie Mullins Jon Snow Top weight when he made his first start for new coach George Baker at 140.
