American venture capital investor and entrepreneur Tim Draper took the master stage at Paris Blockchain Week 2023 to deliver a keynote speech on, “Decentralizing Everything” ending with a Bitcoin song of his own making.
The speech opened by touching on the general distrust of cryptocurrencies – especially Bitcoin (BTC) – from centralized governments. “I think they’re really panicking right now,” he said.

Draper is particularly thinking through the lens of the recent Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) crisis, which he calls a “crisis of trust.”
“They have shaken our confidence in the banking system … What a strong leader will do is rebuild that confidence. Trust the banks that are still there and free them.
However, according to investors, a smooth transition from the latest bank failure will not be possible under the current leadership of the United States. He pointed to recent comments about cryptocurrencies coming from the White House.
His entire speech revolved around the belief that inevitable change will come from decentralized financial tools like Bitcoin, and called it “a drumbeat that just keeps coming and coming.”
“Everything is getting richer because more liquidity is created for the world – every time there is a currency leap. We are going through an anthropological change, which is difficult for people. Many people are against it.”
He goes on to say that a weak leader will be revealed by those who reject him. Whereas strong leaders embrace and seek this change. He closed his speech with a 3-minute song, which he wrote and performed.

According to Draper, the song was written four years ago but is more relevant than ever. It touches on Satoshi, Bitcoin, banks, governments and the desire for a new world order.

Before starting, he dedicated the song to SVB and “all banks that have failed and will fail.”
“And I am dedicated to all governments that do not trust their people and free them, they will also fail, and the currency will also fail.
The song drew applause from the audience, as did the panelists who followed Draper on the master stage.
He summed up the moment by saying blockchain, Bitcoin and smart contracts are creating one of the “biggest transitions in the history of the world,” and should be embraced.
