Tiger Woods admitted he was unsure if he would play competitively again before The Masters after returning to PGA Tour action at the Genesis Invitational.
Woods marked his first competitive start since The Open last July – and his first PGA Tour appearance outside a major tournament since the Zozo Championship in October 2020 – with a final round of 73 at Riviera Country Club.
The 15-time major champion has regularly said he will not be able to commit to a full playing schedule, following a career-threatening injury in a car crash in February 2021, although Woods remains hopeful of competing in all four majors.

“Yeah, I’m sure you’ll see me in a few places,” Woods said CBS. “Competition, I don’t know.
“My goal every year from here forward is to play in all the majors – I’m not going to play more than that. My body and my legs and my back won’t allow me to play more than that anymore.
“So that was my goal last year and I was able to play three out of four and this year I’m hoping to play all four. That’s going to be my schedule going forward because of all the limitations that I have.”
Woods birdied the opening hole but made three bogeys in five of the six holes, then mixed two birdies with a bogey on the back nine to finish under par for the tournament.
“My game was good,” Woods said after the final round. “Yeah, it’s rusty. I made some silly mistakes here and there and I can’t hit the greens every day as fast as I usually do when I play.
