Thousands join Ayawaso West Wuogon MP in ‘Walking the Talk’
There was joy and euphoria on Saturday, March 4 as thousands of constituents in Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency joined the Member of Parliament, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, as well as constituency, regional and national executives in a girl health event dubbed ‘Walking the Talk’. .
In the midst of drumming and dancing, patrons including the Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin from Fiesta Royale Hotel, the starting point, through Dzorwulu to Abelenkpe Astroturf, where they were taken through aerobics for the climax healthwalk.


An excited member of parliament, Madam Seyram Alhassan, who is also the Deputy Chief First Majority Whip, said the walk would now become a regular affair in the constituency, which would be held on the first Saturday of every month.
He said it would be a way to galvanize the support base of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to ‘destroy the 8’.
“We must be healthy and motivated for the task ahead,” said supporters, adding “a healthy nation is a wealthy nation”.

He called for unity in the constituency, asking “some people who are not in the train to join the train”.
Mrs. Seyram Alhassan called on current citizens who are unable to register in 2020 as a result of covid-19 to take advantage of the opportunities made available by the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) in the upcoming limited registration exercise.
On his part, the Constituency Chairman Alhaji Osman Iddrisu vowed to work hard to increase the party’s votes in next year’s elections.
He said if the party’s margin of victory falls below 11,000, he will resign from his post.

Nasara Greater Accra Regional Coordinator Jeff Kassim said the NPP will not lose the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat.
Even if former President John Dramani Mahama is selected as the Parliamentary Candidate, he taunted, the NPP will win.
