Rio Ferdinand believes there is no comparison between Manchester United enforcers Casemiro and Thomas Partey despite the Arsenal midfielder’s impressive campaign.
Ferdinand has claimed Casemiro ‘wiped him [Partey] away’ with his influence on the game, citing statistics as the basis of his argument ahead of United’s crucial trip to the Emirates to face the Gunners on Sunday.
‘I think it’s important for the team … you can argue both sides equally. But then, when you go through the statistics on Casemiro it leaves him,” he said on the Vibe with Five Podcast.
The former Manchester United defender does not believe Partey can do the same job at the center of Erik ten Hag’s team.
‘No, no. I don’t think Partey is good enough in defense to do what Casemiro did,” he said.
‘I don’t think he has an impact on Man United’s defence, on the ball he does more.’
