The Gunners came from 2-0 down to record an impressive 3-2 victory after a last-minute goal by Reiss Nelson.
Mikel Arteta’s side looked doomed when they conceded two goals to Bournemouth after strikes from Philip Billing and Marcos Senesi.
However, a late rally from Arsenal saw them restore parity after quick goals from Partey and Ben White.
Nelson then scored the winner with a late kick as the Gunners maintained their five-point lead at the top of the league table.
Partey had tried to lift his shirt to pay tribute to Atsu when he scored the goal but he didn’t get the idea after only showing part of the message on his undershirt before quickly running off again.
However, the Ghanaian international later paid tribute to his former full-time international team-mate by displaying the message “Rest well Christian Atsu”.
Explaining the tributes after the game, Partey said: “I hope I get a chance to dedicate this to him [Atsu].
“We all see that we have to believe and I believe that I have prepared that goal for him. In the end, I’m happy, I hope he can rest in peace.”
Atsu was confirmed dead on Saturday, February 18, 2023, after his lifeless body was pulled from the rubble of an earthquake in Turkey.
It follows days of intense searches after earthquakes devastated Turkey and Syria in mid-February.
Tributes have poured in from far and near, with many offering condolences to the footballer’s family and loved ones.
