Richarlison blasted Tottenham manager Antonio Conte for not starting him on Wednesday evening after Spurs crashed out of the Champions League with a goalless draw against AC Milan.
In an explosive post-match interview, Richarlison questioned Conte for dropping him to the bench after the West Ham and Chelsea victories.
He also admitted in an interview that it had been a ‘season of ***’.
‘I don’t know – I was playing well, we were winning against Chelsea and West Ham and suddenly I was on the bench. I played five minutes against Wolves, asked the reason and nobody told me why,” the Brazilian said.
‘He asked me to take a fitness test at the gym and told me I would start if I passed. And I was on the bench, something I couldn’t understand. No more explanations, let’s see what (Conte) has to say but I’m not stupid – I’m a professional who works hard every day and I want to play.’
Richarlison came on as a substitute with 20 minutes remaining with Spurs needing a goal to force extra time but couldn’t make the difference.
‘You haven’t given me enough minutes. This season – and pardon my language – has been sh*t,’ Richarlison added. ‘That also does not know (being a substitute). It went well, in good order, two wins against West Ham and Chelsea.
