Kennedy Agyapong expressed his happiness to the former president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwasi Nyantakyi.
On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, the Accra High Court dismissed a 25 million defamation suit filed by Anas against a member of parliament and a businessman in 2018.
She claimed in her lawsuit that Agyapong defamed her in a documentary film aired on various platforms titled “Who watches the guard”. Anas prayed the court to compensate Agyapong and compel him to clear his name.
However, the High Court presided over by Justice Eric Baah held that Anas Aremeyaw Anas failed to prove that Ken Agyapong defamed him by airing the documentary.
In the court’s view, the documentary reveals a bit of a shady deal about Anas and his friends.
In a lengthy ruling, the court said that Agyapong provided enough evidence to prove that Anas used the findings of his work to solicit money from people related to the evidence gathered in the investigation.
He added that the evidence also proved that those who could pay the money demanded by Anas and his friends were released from the video that was shown to the public.
The court concluded that what Anas did was not investigative journalism but “investigative terrorism” and Agyapong was justified in calling Anas “extortion, corruption, extortion, and evil”.
But Tiger Eye PI responded to the decision saying: “We find the court decision an unfortunate travesty of justice and very inimical to the administration of justice and justice.
In a statement, he said Tiger Eye PI and our CEO Anas Aremeyaw remain steadfast in the fight against corruption in the Ghanaian society.
