Liz Cheney who is running against Trump will incite him to display misogyny, brutality, hatred for traditional conservatism and contempt for the Constitution. Hopefully, this will rekindle the commitment of true republicans to oppose non-MAGA conservatism. Cheney entering the presidency can encourage real conservatives to fight for the survival of the party and show their commitment to the country through the party. The most important message to republicans running against Trump is that he is the enemy of democracy and embodies all the dangerous traits of dictators past and present. Cheney’s ultra-conservative voting record will appeal to those on the right who despise and reject Trump, reject the extremism of MAGA ideology and oppose the promotion of violence in politics.
Cheney rejects the politics and morals of individuals who champion Trump’s anti-democratic, authoritarian ideology. He strongly opposed MAGA’s actions and surrogate rhetoric like:
- Rudy Guiliani- Trump’s former lawyer who spread lies about voter fraud, promoted a COVID conspiracy theory, and tried to overturn the 2022 election.
- Marjorie Taylor Green – Conspiracy theorist who promotes anti-Semitic, racist, “big lie” rhetoric. He has also championed and defended rebellion and convicted rebels.
- Kevin McCarthy- The Speaker of the House who originally held Trump responsible for the insurrection but has now made a deal with MAGA members of the House to downplay the insurgency and spread “big lies”. He also refused to comply with a subpoena to testify before the Select Committee on January 6.
- Steve Bannon- Former Trump Administration advisor, anarchist and conspiracy theorist who has been convicted and sentenced to 4 months in prison. He believed that the president should have absolute and uncontested power.
- Mark Meadows- Former White House Chief of Staff who protected and defended Trump’s actions on January 6 and spread the “big lie.” He also refused to comply with a subpoena to testify before the January 6 Select committee.

Cheney is afraid of Trump. He saw his pseudomachoism and realized how his fear and insecurity fueled his angry and cruel nature. However, because he had found the cult message effective in securing his base, Cheney knew the threat posed to democracy was real and was eager to block his bid for the presidency.
