President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said his next twenty-two month mandate will focus on restoring his government’s economy before Covid and the Russian invasion of Ukraine to a period of rapid growth.

Mr. Akufo-Addo said this was a promise he made to Ghanaians, and one he was determined to keep.

“Before I sit down, I want to inform you that, in fulfillment of the announcement I made at the Founder’s Day Celebration last year, I will, on Tuesday, 14.Th March 2023, we are giving national awards to some of our citizens, who have distinguished themselves in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With these actions, they helped to protect and preserve our population, and earned global praise for Mother Ghana,” he said at the 66th Independence Day celebrations on Monday, March 6.

He added, “I will also, on that day, thank the country for the legal team of men and women charged with ensuring that the maritime border dispute with Ghana, its western neighbor, the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, is resolved. good for Ghana, so ensure that our western maritime resources, including potential oil and gas reserves, remain legally in our possession.

“I believe we all saw three (3) helicopters belonging to the Police participating in the celebration this morning. This is the first time in our country’s history that the Police Service is using helicopters to improve operational efficiency.

“The acquisition of this helicopter is in honor of the promise made at the end of 2019 by the WASSA Police, and I assure the officers, men and women of the Government Service to continue to support them in order to effectively carry out their mandate.”
