This is the controversy of the year: baby nepo!
Over the past few weeks, social media has been abuzz about nepotism in Hollywood — you know, celebrities who get famous with the help of their already famous parents. While many of them are very talented themselves (!!!), it’s still frustrating for fans (and other hopeful artists) to see these stars refuse to be privileged – even if it’s called for!

Nicholas Cage
Nicholas Cage has an impressive résumé – but it feels so good when you review your family’s achievements! He is 58 years old National Treasure the stars come from their parents August Coppola and Joy Vogelsang. You may recognize Coppola’s last name. August is a writer, film executive, and arts advocate, whose siblings are also media personalities (eg At godfather director Francis Ford Coppola). Meanwhile, Joy is a dancer and choreographer.
And get this: Nicolas literally changed his name to avoid comparisons with his father early in his career, which he admitted earlier this year when talking to his father. CABLE! He ran away from baby nepo talk from the beginning. LOLz!
Mariska Harti
He is a legend in his own right, however Mariska Harti comes from two famous parents, as well. It’s his mother Jayne Mansfield, who is an American actress, singer, nightclub entertainer, and former Playboy Playmate. She was one of the most famous sex symbols of the 50s and 60s. You may know him from movies like The girl couldn’t help it and Will Success Destroy Rock Hunter? Then there is Mariska’s father: Mickey Hargay, Hungarian-American actor and 1955 Mr. Universe. wow!
Zoey Deutch
You know him from It’s not okay, Something from Tiffany, Set upand Zombielandbut do you know his parents? Zoey Deutchhis mother is Back to the Future star Leah Thompson and his father Pretty in Pink director Howard Deutch.
Gwyneth Paltrow
Wait, what? That’s right! Gwyneth Paltrow also nepo baby! He was born in 1972 to parents Blythe Danner and Bruce Paltrow. While you may recognize Blythe from Gwyneth’s social media, she was (and continues to be) a very popular actress long before her daughter entered the picture. The 79-year-old is best known for his role in I Will See You In My Dreams, Really lucky, Meet the parentsand Will & Grace. Bruce also knows his way around the plane since he was a television director on such shows Duet, Small Typeand White Shadow.
Timothée Chalamet
Timothée Chalamet has risen through the ranks of Hollywood in the blink of an eye with the performance Call Me By Your Name, little lady, and Sand dunes, but probably he was given some talent by his mother and father! The 27-year-old mother, Nicole Flender, made a name for herself on Broadway as a dancer. father, Marc Chalamet, may not be in the entertainment industry, but he’s not a nobody! Robert Downey Jr.
