THE OBPAMAS

President Obama gave a powerful speech about bringing people together despite their differences. He skillfully managed to be positive and inspirational while also skewering Trump. He referred to Trump as “a 78-year-old billionaire who hasn’t stopped whining about his problems since he rode down his golden escalator nine years ago.” He touted the qualifications of Kamala Harris and the message of hope and joy and optimism for America.
His closing statement was an indirect rejection of Trump’s divisive assault on America. He said, “As much as any policy or program, I believe that’s what we yearn for — a return to an America where we work together and look out for each other. A restoration of what Lincoln called, on the eve of civil war, ‘our bonds of affection.’ An America that taps what he called ‘the better angels of our nature.’
“That’s what this election is about.”

Trump and Vance are trying to reduce the positive reaction to Harris and Walz. They continue to make claims that the American economy is the worst in its history relying only on quoting increased prices for food. They ignore addressing the record low unemployment rate, increased U.S. manufacturing, a record breaking stock market, decreased inflation, reduced gas prices and healthcare costs, deficit reduction, and lower prescription drug prices. The Democratic Convention speeches revealed how democrats present facts when they make claims and Republicans leave facts out of the dialogue.
The DNC convention showed the talent, integrity, and competence of the democrats. The RNC was angry, corny, and without policy. As the Obama’s pointed out, a lot of whining, lying, and complaining is the best the Republicans can do.
