Wisdom is defined as God’s way of doing things. When you practice divine wisdom, you will begin to speak, think and act like God would act in every situation of life. This is the kind of wisdom that the Apostle Paul spoke of in 1 Corinthians 2:6-8: “But I speak wisdom among perfect men: there is none: but we speak the wisdom of God in secret, the wisdom that is hidden…

What is this wisdom, that these miracles are done through him. The spirit of wisdom is very important to walk with God and salvation and influence on earth.

Let’s look at some of the effects of wisdom in any life:

1. You cannot be an effective leader for God in any capacity without wisdom, which makes people effective.
2. Wisdom is the foundation of creativity, innovation and ingenuity. “I, wisdom, live by wisdom, and seek the knowledge of its opinions.” (Proverbs 8:12).
3. Wisdom is the foundation of passion for evangelism and soul winning. “He who wins souls is wise” (Proverbs 11:30).
4. Wisdom is the foundation of the fear of God: “only the wise fear God” (Proverbs 9:10). “The wise fear and shun evil, but fools are angry and confident” (Proverbs 14-16).
5. Wisdom improves a heart that can be taught and a heart that accepts correction (Proverbs 17:10).
6. Wisdom is the foundation of wealth and riches.” Riches and glory are with me; Yes, riches and righteousness endure” (Proverbs 8:18).
7. Wisdom prolongs life. “Have the day in your right hand; Wealth and honor in your left hand.” (Proverbs 3-16). A wise man does not commit adultery. He knows that it can kill him.
8. Wisdom is the foundation of a healthy marriage, the Bible says that husbands should live with their wives in knowledge (1 Peter 3-7).

The question now is: If wisdom does all of the above and much more, how do we get wisdom? Wisdom can be received in five main ways (among others):

1. Wisdom comes primarily through the word of God, which is God’s wisdom on paper. If you don’t read words, you can’t find wisdom. You must read ardent and do words; why? The Word of God is the wisdom of God in hard copy (1 Corinthians 1:24).
2. Fear God. The Bible explains; the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom; Proverbs 9:10.
3. The spirit of wisdom can be given through the laying on of hands – Deuteronomy 34:9.
4. It can be given to us if we cry out to God. The Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesian church; Ephesians 1:17 (so that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, our glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation to have knowledge of him”. If any of you lack wisdom, ask God, who gives to all people and do not turn back and forth, and it will be given.”
5. Wisdom can be caught by the discovery of standards and commitment to God’s work: Exodus 35:31 (there is wisdom for each task).
