Teenage Mother alum Ryan Edwards jailed after cheating on his wife Mackenzie Edwards.
According to the arrest report taken by Us Weekly on February 10, the former reality star, 35, was arrested after his wife, 26, reported to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office that Ryan had posted a photo of her on his Instagram page.
The day before his arrest, Ryan was served with an Order of Protection by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and ordered to immediately vacate his home near Harrison State Park. On Friday, Mackenzie told authorities that Ryan had been in contact with his father, Bob Standiferwhich he claims violated the protective order.
“During today’s conversation with Mackenzie, it was discovered that Ryan had violated the Order of Protection by contacting his father on February 9, 2023, telling Mackenzie that he would be home that same day to collect his belongings,” a press release from the sheriff’s office said. “During the investigation of the violation of the Order of Protection, HCSO deputies learned that Ryan had an active warrant for Harassment issued by the Chattanooga Police Department. Mackenzie was listed as the victim in the incident. The warrant was obtained on February 8, 2023.
Prior to his arrest, Ryan accused Mackenzie of infidelity on Instagram in January 2023.
“Get rid of this wife, I’m not proud to be married to someone who keeps going out to bars and going home with other people. [sic] man… we can’t get here soon enough tomorrow!” Ryan wrote in the comment section of a sweet photo of him and his wife. “Slip [sic] you know what happens when you sleep with a dog? … wait look who I’m talking about. Then blaming my addiction yes divorce is the right thing.
Weeks after making the allegations, the Tennessee native said he wanted to reconcile with Mackenzie only to embarrass her the next day and post a risqué photo on social media. After Ryan’s latest comments, the pair deleted photos of each other from their respective Instagram accounts.
When Ryan was arrested, he was searched and found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and two bags of suspected narcotics. According to documents, he was booked on several charges including harassment, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
This is not the first time the TV personality has suffered from substance abuse in the past. In March 2017, he was arrested for possession of heroin. Less than a year later, Ryan revealed that he entered rehab for 30 days after shocking footage of him falling asleep at the wheel aired during the season 6 finale. Teenage Mother AND. Mackenzie is another person who filed a protective order against him Teenage Mother AND alum. In April 2018, Ryan’s ex Maci Bookout – who shares Bentley’s son with – filed for an Order of Protection against him 16 & Pregnant alum after he threatened her and her husband Taylor McKinney.
“He has left voicemail messages threatening to show up at my house and take my daughter,” the mother of three wrote in court documents. “He has made threats to show up and hurt me if I don’t answer the phone… [He] appeared under the influence of the heroine [SIC] and approached me, shouting and threatening to hurt me.”
