Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) said he supports term limits — just not for himself, yet.
Cruz claims he supports a two-term limit on senators. But as “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan pointed out on Sunday, he is now running for a third season.
“Why don’t you live up to that standard?” he asked.
Cruz stressed that he is a “passionate defender of term limits” and said “Congress would be better off” with such limits.
“I have never said that we will comply unilaterally,” he said.
Cruz has proposed a Constitutional amendment for term limits. That’s almost unlikely to happen — but he said he’d be “happy, happy” to comply with his own call for term limits.
